OSLON Black Flat is able to meet a wide range of requirements. It offers a uniform light pattern, thermal stability, outstanding brightness and high robustness against harsh ambient conditions. Chip configuration from one chip to five chips in a row is available. The OSLON Black Flat family offers great design freedom for headlight manufacturers as well as OEMs. The customer can choose the most suitable out of all existing OSLON Black Flat versions, depending on the desired design. Moreover, the especially slim package enables very compact headlight systems. It combines benefits from both the OSLON Black Flat package and OSTAR Headlamp package.

The OSLON Black Flat S product family is one of the core members of ams OSRAM’s forward lighting high power portfolio widely in use in global automotive LED applications since several years. The leadframe based black package concept provides outstanding contrast and excellent 2nd board reliability. Especially its excellent 2nd board reliability and low thermal resistance make the OBF S product family the perfect match to enable low Headlamp system cost. The light emitting area of (1030µm)² per chip meets both, excellent brightness in combination with outstanding luminance. In addition, the multichip products offer the feature of single addressability of each chip.

The OSLON™ Black Flat X is part of ams OSRAM’s successful OSLON™ Black Flat brand family, designed to meet the requirements of a wide range of automotive exterior applications. It is known as the first surface-mount technology (SMT) LED brand for forward lighting enabling mass-market adoption to mid segments – a target market that was unaffordable to reach with conventional technology. The OSLON Black Flat X offers LED devices with the highest efficiency in the ams OSRAM LED portfolio. This makes it the perfect light source for standard forward lighting applications where system cost is a major consideration. The SMT device is stable, durable, and can be used with standard processes. The pad geometry of the widely used OSLON™ Black Flat product platform was further optimized to allow for excellent thermal conditions, while the established, outstanding contrast of the package concept is a family feature.

With the OSLON™ Boost family, a new chip generation with an extremely high electrical power is coming. Together with a special designed package it is now possible to use the LED with 3A per square millimeter chip surface. As a result, it is not only possible to achieve very high luminous flux but also to reach a great light concentration from a small emission surface. High luminance translates future-oriented headlamp designs into reality. Due to increasing luminance, design-driven applications can be created with a reduced system size. Especially in the premium car segment, this will play an increasingly important role.

The OLSON™ Boost HM Gen2 delivers potent light output alongside a robust package and dependable quality. Thanks to its high luminance output, this LED enhances the flexibility in creating slim or sleeker headlamp designs and serves as an excellent option for range extensions / high beam spots in matrix applications.

OSLON™ Compact PL is ams OSRAM’s product family designed to meet the requirements of miniaturization-driven automotive headlamp, ADB and turn indicator applications. It is striking for both its small size and robust package and is therefore perfect for ADB applications. Thanks to OSLON™ Compact PL customers are able to achieve a combination of excellent brightness and outstanding luminance. The OSLON™ Compact PL family comprises single as well as multichip configurations for low/ high beam application with best in class luminance performance and different solder pad designs. Its compact size enables narrow positioning especially beneficial for ADB Headlamp solutions. The products combine the latest UX:3 chip technology with a homogeneous light emitting area giving highest flux performance for easier optical design and thermal management.
