First Place: ADC AS5912 for Computed Tomography Awarded
Premstaetten, Austria and Munich, Germany (March 31, 2025) – At this year's “Product of the Year” awards hosted by the German trade journal “Elektronik,” ams OSRAM won first place in the medical technology category with the AS5912 analog-to-digital converter (ADC). Ivo Ivanovski, Head of Product Line Medical Imaging & Foundry, accepted the award on behalf of the team in Munich on March 27.
“This award highlights the recognition of our dedication to medical imaging technologies,” said Ivo Ivanovski. “Our product enables advanced computed tomography (CT) for medical, industrial and security applications, enabling high-resolution image quality of the CT scanners. The ADC impresses with the combination of reduced complexity of system integration and enhanced performance.”
The AS5912 is the first Analog-to-Digital Converter from ams OSRAM for CT detectors with 512 channels in a compact system-in-package solution. Thanks to its high channel density, the ADC allows for smaller pixel sizes in CT modules, allowing outstanding image quality for CT scanners.
In February of this year, ams OSRAM once again demonstrated its expertise in computed tomography with the CT sensor modules AS5920M, the first disruptive housing solution for photon counting detectors, and AS5952M, a powerful and cost-effective sensor module for 64-slice CT imaging.
