In more flexible environments, safety is ensured by 2D/3D LiDAR scanners or 1D/2D LED light curtains, which consist of separate emitter and receiver units with photodetectors. To simplify scanning, the trend is towards advanced 3D scanning, combining presence detection within a single sensor.
